Implanting microchips in animals: is it ethical?

What is microchip?
A microchip implant is an identifying integrated circuit placed under the skin of an animal. The chip, about the size of a large grain of rice, and are safely implanted like a vaccine is administered, by a needle in a fold of skin.

Use of microchip
Scientists implant microchips in animals in order to study about the certain living thing such as where it lives, how it moves in times and identification. Microchips are difficult to implant and can harm animals but it is also painless process. It is about the size of a grain of rice
Scientists learn about animals through implanted microchip. Each microchip contains a registration number and the phone number of the registry for the particular brand of chip. A handheld scanner reads the radio frequency of the chip and displays this information.

Benefits of Micro- chipping Animals
Permanent, permanent documentation of animals can be a challenge. Although a documented form of identification, the tattooing process can crop distress and tattoos can fade with time and can sometimes be altered. Identification tags are effective means of documentation only if they are in place on the animal when it becomes lost.

In my opinion for important researches scientists can do such process. Because it is the only way that we can learn about it by leaving it freely. It is not right thing to keep animals as pets. So let it lives freely. With the help of such device we can collect information about it. We do test on animals before we use it on humans. So in my opinion the intention of study of such animals it is right thing to do.
