Use of Educational Technology in Assessment and Evaluation

Technology offers teachers a variety of new tools that can be used in the classroom. Technology can help teachers track and assess their students' -- as well as their own -- performance in the classroom. It can also be used to facilitate communication between students and teachers and to create digital records of student growth and development that can easily be passed along from grade to grade.

Teachers can use technology to make their own work more productive -- teachers can use spreadsheets to track student work and also track their teaching plans. If a group of students is performing poorly in a particular area, this kind of record keeping can highlight areas that the teacher needs to focus on in their own teaching.

Technology gives us a way to get feedback continually during the teaching process, instead of at the end of the teaching process -- when we end up with only a retrospective understanding.
One example is Google classroom.
Google Classroom is an online platform that enhances the learning experience in the physical classroom. It is part of the Google Apps for Education suite which strives to enable paperless learning in the classroom.
Google Classroom is a free collaboration application for teachers and learners. Teachers can create online classrooms, ask students to attend the class, and create and give out assignments. Learners and teachers can communicate about the assignments within the platform and teachers can monitor students’ progress. Schools can create a free Google Apps for Education account to utilize this solution.
Google Classroom provides extra features to teachers and students that are not part of standard Google accounts. For instance, teachers can utilize the Forms tool to add images and multiple choice answers to questions. The Inbox by Gmail tool hosts Classroom messages, enabling students and teachers to easily find highlights and key updates. Teachers can organize their class streams by adding subjects to posts and students and teachers can filter the streams to find specific subjects.
Google Classroom is also beneficial for parents. Teachers can share summaries of student performance with their parents and the latter can get automated email summaries of class announcements and student work.
